Example movie of GFP-tagged CENP-A relocalizing to a site of laser exposure. 532 nm picosecond pulse light was used to induce a double-strand break in the DNA of a living human cell. GFP-tagged CENP-A starts to form a visible spot within 5 minutes of break induction. The spot lasts about 1 hour and then rapidly disappears over the course of about 5 minutes.
