Not all DNA damage is bad.
 
Yes, gamma-rays and ultraviolet light can kill you, but they can also be therapeutic when applied to the right places at the right doses. Some chemotherapeutics kill cancer cells by inducing DNA damage, which is bad for the cancer, but good for you!
 
I’m interested in nutritional deficiencies, like low folate, which can induce DNA damage indirectly. I’m also interested in ‘deliberate’ DNA damage, or modifications of the DNA that are induced by cells on purpose, as part of a normal life cycle.
 
Even DNA damage can make you stronger.
